Who is the player with the longest breath, who is the
player with nerves of steel or who is the most adapted
player to nighttime? We surely can say that this event has
got a little out of control, timewise. What should have
been a tournament starting around 10:30 and ending at 22:00
turned into a Marathon event, an Endurance.
What have we seen in this tournament? Joy, Anger, Stress,
Disbelief, you name it and it happened in a way. Epic
comebacks or Cupmode failure and ofcourse insane matches
with crazy rounds where driving close to world record was
just enough to stick behind the 3rd.
Read more for results and a short review of the day. As
even the reporter himself, had to pull off a marathon in
reporting! Don't forget to read the Blog at Related Links to get an impression of this Marathon!

Finally, it was 04:30 and we were all ready for the Grand Finals! The match started with a Frostbeule we have never seen before! Alot of mistakes and crashes and not even bug related crashes, most likely tiredness related! Moriah took an early and great lead and looked to be going for a large win! Driving some insane times. However Frostbeule seemed to have woken up and regained control. Just 1 map later the scores were within 10 points for all players around the 75 points mark. Frostbeule managed to become the first Finalist and he didn't even spill one round as. He took the first oppertunity, going against all the curses he has ahd, and grabs the 1,000 Euro winning fee for the Grand Final! Carl became finalist aswel when Frostbeule drove his victory lap and also finished this immediatly.
Epic CupmodeThe fairness of cupmode has been questioned many times and
once again it shows why it ain't fair most of the time. In
the Winner Bracket Final the cupmode showed once again why
it's feared and certainly by the cursed Frostbeule, who
seems to have a hate-hate relationship with this mode.
Frostbeule was literally dominating the match and took a 4
round lead on Carl and even 60 points on the 3rd, Moriah.
As Frostbeule was finalist, Carl stepped his driving up a
notch and was rock solid! He won 4 straight rounds and also
took the 5th round as Finalist. Frostbeule would
technically have had more points than Carl in this case.
However Cup mode showed no remorse and Frostbeule had a
real curse that controlled his driving! Where he was
driving without any bugs and perfectly smooth before
becoming Finalist, now he started bugging and losing the
momentum. Moriah was still 30 points from Finalist but got
a chance to close this gap to become Finalist himself. Now
once again Moriah took the 2nd place position as Finalist
within the 1st round and Frostbeule was left with 3rd.
Losing the 400 euro winning fee and the point advantage by
going directly into the Grand Final.
Delayed, Delays, DelayThe event got delayed and delayed and turned into an
all-night event. It started with the Time Attack seedings
which got moved back 30 minutes by server problems. But
seeing the large break that was scheduled after the Time
Attack, it was fine.
According to the Schedule, we were supposed to kick off
with the Group Stage at 13:50. However this got delayed and
we only recieved the actual groups at 14:00. Then there
were rumours that we could start soon but it kept being
delayed by FIFA matches and PC problems at TEX itself.
Finally at 16:30, so that's nearly 3 hours behind, we got
the first views on a Relay but around 1 hour later we got
actual results. So the total delay built up to 4 hours by
now. But it was only until 19:30 we could actually start
with the first Brackets! This time on servers and relays
hosted and proved by Trackmania.se. From here on things
went better and it went according schedule, but 5 hours
behind it. Though in the middle of the night aren't favourable as Rapt seemed to show signs of fatigueness, but could luckily continue after a break.
