The World Cyber Games qualifications for Sweden are probably one of the most important qualifiers to follow and the finals will take place on the 28th of August. With only 1 slot available, the chances are that the current leader of the world rankings may not even set foot on Chinese soil. It will ofcourse be another battle between Karjen and Frostbeule, but this time there will be only 1 prize to take.
To join these 2 Swedish there will be 2 more who will qualify by a BYOC lan 2 days before the Finals. Players such as Kurre and Luode have been confirmed to participate so far and maybe TekNizzle will enter this too. However it is most certain that the fight will be between the 2 giants, but we're always up for upsets and anything can happen!
Slidestar has taken the liberty to ask Karjen a few questions to have some insight on how he looks forward to this happening, Read more!
Slidestar - JWH:
Hello Karjen, the World Cyber Games Qualifications for Sweden are coming up soon. Once again it will be the battle of the 2 Swedish giants, but only one may go to the ginals in China. How are or did you prepare yourself for this?
Answer - Karjen:
Well I've trained the maps pretty much ofcourse. I know i could've trained more than I have done, but the tracks get boring to me if I play them too often. I guess I've trained as much as I always do.
Slidestar - JWH:
What do you think about the fact that Sweden only has 1 slot, whilst both you and Frostbeule are 2 potential WCG winners?
Answer - Karjen:
It's sad ofcourse, but I think we can be happy that we atleast got a slot.
Slidestar - JWH:
The National Finals for you will only be 1 match, as you already prequalified, how do you feel about this?
Answer - Karjen:
It feels good to be prequalified for the final, I just hope we get some time to warm up before the match. Otherwise I won't be able to get used to the screenss etc.
Slidestar - JWH:
Do you think Frostbeule maybe has an advantage seeing he played the same maps already at The Experience?
Answer - Karjen:
A little yes. I think it was a good training for him, he knows how it feels to play the tracks in cupmode and so on. But now it's a new tournament and I hope I can give hime a good match.
Slidestar - JWH:
If you happen to win, how are you looking forward to the WCG Finals in China and what do you think about your chances on the grandest stage of them all?
Answer - Karjen:
It would be my first tournament outside Sweden, and I think it would be a great experience for me. It's hard to say about my chances, but since I've beaten Frost recently (and he's the world champion), they might be pretty good.
